Sin-A-Mon Tales

A chronicle of my kitchen experiments, a little healthy a little indulgent

Potato Cheese Rolls | BM6.2 Post 2

There are very few ways my son eats potato, not that its something to be missed in life but kids could do with some starch, also I think potato is a vegetable which gets more bad press than it deserves

I had seen these potato cheese rolls long ago in a Sanjeev Kapoor cook book somewhere and forgotten about it totally. Later at my son’s birthday party I recalled them again, I didn’t have that recipe at hand but decided to use my own guts and common sense and create what I remembered and it did turn out very nice, was gobbled down and at the end of the party there wasnt any left for us to have… yes yes don’t roll your eyes this is a post from the drafts and the birthday was in December he he

Recipe – Potato Cheese Rolls (makes about 15-20 mini sized)

What I used

  • 2 boiled potatoes, peeled and mashed
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (I used cheddar)
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 1 small carrot grated
  • handful of coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 2-3 green beans finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs + some for coating
  • salt to taste (keep in mind the salt cheese would have)
  • Black pepper – 1/2 tsp
  • Oil for deep frying

How I made it

  • Mix all the ingredients together apart from the oil plus bread crumbs for coating the rolls
  • Wetting your hands a bit shape them into mini rolls or any other shape you like
  • Roll them in some more bread crumbs and fry till golden brown

yes yes I have posted a deep frying recipe Winking smile I fried them for the party because there were too many to do, on a normal day I bake them and they turn out pretty well too and yes Ojas eats them incase you are still wondering

These sounds delicious, Monika…. With potatoes and cheese in it, I can imagine how these would just disappear at a party.

Pls pass the plate. I don’t count calories. I believe in cutting the portion.
