A chronicle of my kitchen experiments, a little healthy a little indulgent
Thats what I choose to call them wanna know the reason? Yesterday my sil’s kids were at my home and predictably came and said auntie please bake something for us… I decided to bake these muffins… I made 18 of them left them for cooling, came back after 30 mins and saw only 10…. packed away one each for their snack boxes in the morning and saw after an hour again and what there were only 4 left… I was like what? In case you are wondering what flavor were these amazing muffins… they were nutella and apple muffins and if I tell you that they were low fat, whole wheat ones will that serve as an icing on top of the cake err cup cake?
Recipe : Adapted from The Purple Foodie (which I told u earlier is my current blog love and has been for quite sometime)
What I used
How I made it
I wish I had a picture of the crumb shot to show u guys how nice and soft it was but as I mentioned above it got over before I knew and this one was the only one I could glaze with some Nutella
And with this we start another round of marathon, a 7-day marathon based on theme cooking and the theme that I have picked this time is the one very close to my heart…. yup you guessed it right its Baked Goods 🙂

And also I am sending it to CBB – Celebrating Blogging & Bloggers
Hi Monika, Lovely cupcakes – May be it’s my comp screen, but one suggestion I have for you is perhaps you can use a white plate or surface to take your picture – to show a little contrast ans have the cake stand out some more
– I have a couple of events running in my blog that you might want to participate in –
oh but the pics are taken on the light background… will keep that in my mind in future too thanks for the feedback
and yeah can I send this to fast not fat food?
gosh!! they look absolutely delicious Monu!! 🙂 🙂
Funny how cupcakes disappear as soon as they are out of the oven. Temperature doesn’t seem to affect these when kids want to eat them. Nice one.
yeah temp comes into picture only when u are talking abt roti or rice 🙂
I am rolling in laughter. Some times it happens.
Lovely cake and wise idea of using nutella.
thanks savitha these kids I tell u
I a sure kids loved it!
at the rate that they vanished yes they loved it
yummy cup cakes…..just want to grab one of them…lovely pic…
I cant even say come over as I have none left 😦
I’m a big fan of nutella so this one is for me 🙂 Last click looks yummy with nutella topping
Oh I love nutella too just love it
Thank you so much for the kind words about my blog, Monica! =) Also, I’m really impressed that kids ate up wholewheat muffins. I’ve not baked too much with wholewheat, thinking that they might be a tad dense, but this is encouraging. Also, interesting how you used apples in them – they’re super for cutting down on butter. Okay, so I just scrolled back up to double check – and NO butter? WOW! Mighty impressive.
shaheen I do a lot of whole wheat baking, I have a 3 yr old who loves eating baked goodies and I feel bad giving him maida all the time… I also did a post on tips of whole wheat baking… its not as difficult as it sounds trust me specially making half half is really no big deal 🙂
and yes no butter I was impressed with myself too 🙂
WOW !!! Brilliantly simple yet delicious recipe…finished writing it down….to bake it by this weekend. 🙂 Awesome. 🙂
