Sin-A-Mon Tales

A chronicle of my kitchen experiments, a little healthy a little indulgent

Bloggers Table Safrron, Park Plaza

The Park Plaza, Marathahalli has introduced a menu focusing on North West frontier food. Some of us were invited for a tasting of the menu so here is a picture essay on what we eat that day

Dry Cinnamon Martini to clear the palate, cinnamon was an interesting twist to the standard olive considering it was served at an Indian restaurant. Also one of the most potent martini's I have had outside my house

the condiments served in an earthen tray. the raw papaya relish (which was outstanding), hung curd dip, lemon pickle, coriander chutney with pomegranate seeds and turmeric

the vegetarian appetizers : bhune chat a mix of grilled pineapple, potatoes, pears, apples and bell peppers, I loved the flavors in this one a lot. Panch Rattan Subz Seekh - nothing very great about it, I found this one ordinary Mutter aur Corn ki shammi - the flavours in this one were fab however I think it was overgrinded and was very pasty

Blueberry Surprise : It was a great cocktail, enough vodka and the tartness of the blueberry complimented it very well
Cosmo : a good one at that

Gilawati - big thumps up, everything about this was good. The flavour, the texture Amristati Tawa Meat - the dish of the day for me. I could make a whole meal out of the this

Chicken Sheekh the highlight was the crunch of the onions in this one Peshwari Jhinga - A good meal till now, this is where it started the other way around for me. The prawns were over cooked something I find very hard to forgive

Sabji Abri - frankly this one was a huge disappointment for me, I didn't get any taste in it Dal Makhani or Maa Ki dal - a good one not the best I have eaten but certainly good. I would give it a 6/10 if I had too

And we ended the meal with rasmalai which frankly for me was more of a miss than hit. The milk was good in flavour but it was the rasmalai itself which disappointed me, chewy and hard as compared to the soft melt in the mouth it should have been

All in all, a mixed meal. Some things very good and some ordinary. We did give the feedback to the chef and hopefully all is sorted now and they are ready for a great meal experience
