Sin-A-Mon Tales

A chronicle of my kitchen experiments, a little healthy a little indulgent

Chef’s Table : Amore Italiano Festival, Mövenpick Hotel & Spa

Mövenpick Hotel & Spa is hosting Amore Italiano, an Italian Festival with Chef Antonio visiting from Jordan specially for this. I was invited to be a part of the Chef’s table for the same yesterday night for dinner and the experience was outstanding. I have been a part of many many chef’s table before but this was so special, mainly because of the fact that Chef Antonio was so warm and caring about the meal we are having, so typically Italian 🙂

I am sitting at this post with so much to write about one of the best Italian meals I have had in a while and for a change I am at loss of words… May be I will let the pictures do the talking this time just as Natasha from CAL suggested last night at dinner, you see I take the suggestions which make my life simpler very seriously 😉

Start of the evening with wine and cheese tasting, I found the Red wine not so impressive which is strange because usually I am a red wine person but I loved the white wine… the cheese were pretty good too. Blue cheese here was much creamier than the normal blue cheese one is used too

The gorgeous wood fired oven, sigh how I want one of those

Wines bottles chilling, I found it an interesting shot

Gorgeous Zucchine E Melanzaine Alla Parmigiana : Zucchini and eggplant baked with butter, Parmesan cheese.. a layer of tomato sauce and a layer of white sauce between them. Each bite of this felt delicious

The plated anti pasti – Fresh mozzarella with sliced tomatoes, EVOO, fresh basil pesto and balsamic vinegar reduction served with rocket leaves served along with baked Zucchini and eggplant

Bread basket, I love freshly baked breads 🙂 I heart them

the light that I fell in love

Pasta in the making – see the heaven the bacon 🙂

In goes the pasta

The veg pasta with fresh tomatoes, garlic and red chilli flakes

DSC_0625

Penne with bacon, onion, white wine, black pepper, fresh cherry tomatoes and pecorino cheese. Such a rich bacon taste and all of us wiped the plate clean

DSC_0626

Lasagne Vegetariane – one of the best ones I have eaten in a while… delicious…

DSC_0631

Involtini Di Pollo Allo Scalogno : Chicken breast filled with mushrooms, sundried tomatoes and mozarella cheese with roast brinjal and cream sauce

DSC_0637

White fish grilled tomato and porcini sauce, delightful flavours… delicate yet soulful

DSC_0638

Crespelle Ripiene Di Funghi Misti E Mascrapone : In simple language Mushroom and Mascarpone filled crepes with Castelmagno cheese. I wouldn’t have thought to use Mascarpone in savory dishes too let alone in crepes but the taste was beyond imagination. We were all pretty full by now but still managed to wipe this clean
