Sin-A-Mon Tales

A chronicle of my kitchen experiments, a little healthy a little indulgent

Happy Sandwiches

If you ask me whats the best food, I would say without a blink its the food served with love. Yeah I am silly that way specially when that food with love is made by the boys in my life. So this Sunday when I woke up in the morning, no one wished me for Mother’s Day and I sulked a little, whined a little and told N that what a useless man he was 😉 and he took it upon himself and said Ojas come you and me will make breakfast for mumma today, I was asked to leave the kitchen and not interfere in what they are doing. Infact I had to ask permission for clicking snaps too, as if I am going to eat the raw food while clicking

Now tell me after you have two so cute people working on ur breakfast how can it not be yummy? tell me ? ;p after 45 minutes of crazy fighting sounds from the kitchen (do all dads and sons fight like this or I have got a mad pair ? ;-)) I was served a yummy yummy yummy sandwich and I am not saying just because it was made by them it was truly yummy too

So here is the recipe according to N and please he says he just put everything with approximation so don’t ask me for how much 😛

  • Bread slices
  • almost boiled, peeled and sliced potatoes (I think he boiled them in micro after slicing them)
  • Onion sliced one
  • Some Carrot grated
  • Some capiscum very finely chopped
  • Some may or sandwich spread (I think we had cucumber sandwich spread at home which he used)
  • Tomato cheese spread
  • Butter to grease
How to make
  • Mix onions, carrots and capsicum along with the mayo
  • On bread slice spread some cheese spread
  • Line with sliced boiled potatoes, sprinkle some salt and pepper
  • Spread some of the mayo-veggie mix on top of it
  • Put another bread on it. Spread butter and grill it till brown
  • Enjoy it with chilli or tomato sauce with loads of love 😀
And as if this much happiness wasn’t enough for me Suranga saw this pic on twitter and send me this 😀
The carrots
in pieces,
nudged the
capsicum slivers,
lying nonchalantly across
the round cucumber mamis…..
as the big man
stopped the little one
from painting
butter all over…..”The salt and pepper
makes me sneeze,”
said the carrot;
“but what to do ?
Atma samarpan
under a toast
pressed on our heads.
and toasted golden
is the need of the day…
The prince is making breakfast for the Queen …”
So did u cook something special for Mothers Day or for u served something special with love on that day?
And this is off to Breakfast Mela being held at Valli’s
