There are some food which slowly creep into becoming one’s favourite… broccoli is one of them, while I was growing up we used to see it in those fancy shops of Khan market and call it green cauliflower… in a way it is but than when I grew up and it became more readily available in India I started experimenting with it at home and realised all of us at home love it
Garlic is another ingredient I am slowly falling in love with and its so strange because its something I haven’t eaten all my childhood. My mum never used to have garlic at home and using it in cooking was something I never experienced. Infact I remembered a time when we would all make faces when the new neighbours next door would fry garlic and we would get the smell we were never used to… how surprising is that now that is the smell I have slowly fallen in love with
Fresh thick red chillies… the punch the delicate punch of the sourness and the spicyness and oh so very juicy…
And last week I had all those ingredients together at home
Dont they look so good so vibrant together. So I was saying I had all the ingredients together and I want to use them in a single dish… So I made some broccolli, chilly and garlic rice and they were so yummmm that I can’t tell u and such a beautiful looking dish that I sat and admired it for long before eating it
And the best thing about it, my very picky eater son loved it… he was amused by the colours and the look of the rice and just gobbled it down… yes yes he even eat the broccoli I couldn’t have been happier…
What I used
How I made it
Simple and yummy and yeah forgive me for posting so many pics… I can’t get over the vibrancy of the dish
