Sin-A-Mon Tales

A chronicle of my kitchen experiments, a little healthy a little indulgent

Healthy and Tasty

Ojas’s nanny of 1.5 years is getting married and leaving for her marriage today so yesterday morning N told me that we should go out to dinner today.. couple time God knows when will be able to do that again 😉 and then Sachin the master blaster went and made a 200… what better time to celebrate

We went to Lumiere – An organic restaurant which has opened near our house sometime back and man I am so glad I did that

As the name suggests they serve everything organically grown…. I just loved the place.. the food is delicious absolutely yummy I think the basic vegetables were so yummy that whatever u do with them it would have been tasty…

the decor is very simply done in cane but looks very elegant…we were greeted with a complimentary juice…

The menu is wide with north indian and items from all south indian states with a little bit of Chinese thrown in… there is a wee bit focus more on non vegetarian but there are enough options for vegetarians too.. we stuck to veg that day

What impressed me really is their commitment to health… they dont serve red meat, don’t use maida in their bakery and it still tastes so so yum..

They also have a variety of juice being served including various options with wheatgrass…

We ordered dal tadka, aalo methi, tandoori rotis along with lemon juice and one wheatgrass shot and polished off everything followed by desserts… caramel custard and watalappan – a srilankan dessert…we finished the meal with a complimentary shot of wheatgrass and mint for digestion and breath

And the rates are also not exorbitant… we spent about Rs. 725 for the whole meal and came home with a loaf of freshly baked herbed whole wheat bread which we savored in breakfast along with eggs…

Definitely a place I am going again and recommend to all…

And yeah the nanny search begins yet again.. if u know of a lead please mail me

    Wow!
Do you live anywhere near Cockburn Road? My sis stayed there and her landlady trained girls to work as nannys and maids. But only around that place.

Oh wow, Mon, that sounds yummm! And 750 is a really good price. Our good ol Saravana Bhavan is costlier methinks 😦

I’m surprised that you only spent Rs.750…Most organic places charge Rs.1000 just for being organic and then there is the price of food…

I’m glad you had a good time…Savour it till the nanny comes back…
